Has anyone told you lately to be gentle with yourself?
Has anyone told you to forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, for the behaviours and moments when you weren’t perfect?
You had a childhood filled with horribly dysfunctional role models.
You had crappy teachers in this world. Omg, so crappy.
How can any child learn to be a psychologically healthy, wise, happy person in a situation like that?
So forgive yourself.
You know what? Do MORE than that!
Feel GOOD about yourself!
Feel GOOD about yourself for surviving and for being strong.
Feel GOOD about yourself for seeing, all on your own without any help from your parents and other childhood/societal teachers, that you want to learn something BETTER than what they taught you.
Feel GOOD about yourself for seeking out better teachers wherever you find them …. books, therapy, support groups, and that magical connection in the middle of a forest..
Feel GOOD about yourself for being open to learning, changing, and growing.
Feel GOOD about yourself for staying on this long and valuable journey to becoming your best self.
If you’re reading these words, you ARE on the journey and you ARE sticking with it, even if it doesn’t always seem like it to you.
You’re actually kind of wonderful, you know?
So…
Be gentle.
Forgive yourself.
Feel goooooood!
