Like so many of us, Tony Robbins had a horrific childhood.
BUT, he did something different from what a lot of people do.
Other people (me included, for a long, long time), tell the story of their terrible childhood often, over the years. They think about it often. Because of the story of their childhood so often present in their speech and thoughts, they are filled with self-doubt, and afraid to try things, take risks, fail, or even reach out to people.
They feel like this is just the way their life has to be – that they were damaged in childhood and there is nothing they can do about it. They go through life trapped inside this story of their past, carrying all that negativity around with them every day for their entire life.
Individuals fall into familiar, toxic patterns with the people in their present life. Without realizing it, they attract toxic people and relationships and even events, into their lives, because of the negativity they carry around with them. (This is not a judgment. Sadness and pain are negative emotions too, and they are not deliberate, obviously. It is merely a scientific principle of
Law of Attraction.)
People explain to themselves and others, how their childhood prevents them
from being free and happy. They believe this explanation to be true. They believe they are powerless. (This is not a judgment. I did this too, for many years.)
Tony Robbins did NOT let his story of his childhood become the story of his life. He created a NEW story. I believe if we study his life and his message, we can learn how he did this. We can begin to understand that we have more power over our lives than we ever realized.
It’s never too late for each of us to let go of our old story from childhood and create a new story for our life.
